Feel free to use the movies and images for personal or non-commercial use, as long as they are used in unaltered form.

About us

Are you looking for an artist that can create scientifically accurate illustrations and animations? We do exactly that! We create anything ranging from simple schematics to full 3D animations, illustrations for scientific textbooks, animations for scientific presentations, journal covers, etc.

Dr. Leonard Bosgraaf is our sole animator. Leonard graduated in biochemistry at the University of Groningen, the Netherlands. He later obtained his PhD in biochemistry in the lab of prof. P.J.M. Van Haastert. The subject of his research was chemotaxis in the amoeba Dictyostelium, which equiped him with a lot of knowledge in molecular biology, biochemistry and microscopy. From childhood on, he also has been active artistically. His work was often inspired by his awe for nature. Since 2008, he has combined his passion for art and science by working full time as a scientific computer animator. All the graphics you will see on this website are his work.

About the background image

The background image shows the nucleus of a cell (the large sphere on the right), which contains nuclear pores (the green, disc-shaped objects), ribosomes (small brown particles on the surface), as well as other proteins (even smaller particles). In the background, a microtubule organizing center (MTOC) is shown, from which multiple microtubules extend. Everything is modeled on scale, and where possible PDB- or EM models were used.
